Cindy Solomon has been named communications director for ENCORE Ministry. In this role, Solomon will create the strategy and execution for all communications, website, and public relations messages and collateral to articulate the ministry’s mission to serve the needs of older adults and local church older adult ministries in the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference of The United Methodist Church.

“ENCORE Ministry is proud to have Cindy on our team,” said Charles Hewgley, chair of the ENCORE Ministry Foundation Board. “She has been working with us for several years and we are happy to finally bring her onboard as staff. Her skills and experience in the communications field bring new strength to the work of ENCORE Ministry.”

Prior to being named communications director, Solomon worked in a variety of project management and publicity positions. Recent projects included helping launch the new ENCORE Ministry website and serving as journal editor for the legacy Tennessee Conference and Guide Team project manager for the Nashville Episcopal Area of The United Methodist Church.

“From my first post-college job as an advertising copywriter for The United Methodist Publishing House until now, I’ve been blessed to work with outstanding colleagues in a variety of marketing, sales, and project management roles for various United Methodist agencies,” Solomon said.

In addition to the aforementioned agencies, Solomon has also worked for United Methodist Communications and Discipleship Ministries.

“All of my experiences and relationships in the United Methodist connection have prepared me for this new role. I look forward to sharing the wonderful work being done by ENCORE Ministry Executive Director Kent McNish and Director Rick Gentzler to equip church leaders in the TWK Conference for intentional ministry by, with, and for older adults.
