Approved by delegates at the inaugural Tennessee-Western Kentucky (TWK) Annual Conference in June 2022, the second Sunday of September is ENCORE Ministry Sunday. While churches are encouraged to take a special offering on this day, also known secularly as Grandparents Day, congregations may take an offering any Sunday that’s more convenient.
Through your financial support, ENCORE Ministry is expanding older adult ministry throughout the TWK Conference, creating opportunities for:
- Church accessibility (Bill and Lynn McAlilly Fund)
- Spiritual fellowship
- Access to quality nutrition, healthcare, housing, and transportation for older adults
All of this is this available to TWK churches through the ENCORE Ministry grant program.
The McAlilly Fund for Church Accessibility was established to honor the McAlillys’ service to the conference and acknowledge Bishop McAlilly’s 43-year career in ministry and his scheduled retirement in September 2024. The goal is to raise $250,000 for the fund. This year’s ENCORE Ministry Sunday offerings will support the McAlilly Fund.
ENCORE Ministry’s mission is making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by providing resources and grants to local TWK churches for ministry by, with, and for older adults. This year, join us in making this mission a reality through your offering.
