Eileen Puckett remembers the day she received the news that her home, destroyed in the 2023 flood in Waverly, Tennessee, was going to be rebuilt thanks in part to a grant from ENCORE Ministry Foundation — at no cost to her:
“After a month in a hotel and an efficiency apartment, Appalachia Service Project staff came along and gave me peace of mind. That day, a lady told me they were going to build a house for me. I was beyond blessed.”

Grant support from ENCORE Ministry Foundation funded tiny homes at The Village of Glencliff, located on the campus of Glencliff United Methodist Church in Nashville.

Pastor Ingrid McIntyre said, “The support that ENCORE Ministry has given The Village at Glencliff has meant a lot. It built two of our micro homes...where older adults  experiencing homelessness are able to not just be discharged from the hospital onto a park bench or under the bridge, but they can come here and have a home. This saves lives."

Both ministries provide life-changing and life-saving help and resources for our conference’s older adults — a population that often finds grace-filling living hard to come by.

"Places like Golden Cross Senior Ministries are needed in this community because there are a lot of hurting people out here — people that don’t think anybody cares” said Russell, a Wesley Living Senior Community resident.

Ways Grace-filled Giving Enables Grace-filled Living

  • $25 – Provides resources needed to supply daily necessities like toilet paper, towels and personal hygiene products for residents
  • $50 – A day of social enrichment such as bingo for a community
  • $100 – Enough non-perishable food for a month for a senior
  • $325 – A Move-in Kit to an unsheltered senior
  • $500 – Six months social and educational activities for a community
  • $1,000 – Grant funding for a church starting a new older adult ministry
  • $1,890 – Vital furniture, household and personal items, and daily use necessities to seniors settling into new apartments
