Today, there are 65 million living Americans who are 65 years of age or older (U.S. Census Bureau estimate). As more people are living longer, resources and concerns related to aging and older adults are becoming more prevalent. Thanks in part to grant funding from ENCORE Ministry Foundation, congregations are reframing aging and making their church facilities ADA compliant and accessible for all people.
Grant funding from the ENCORE Ministry Foundation helped members of Cannon UMC in Shelbyville, Tennessee, purchase and install a ramp for retired pastor, Rev. Doug Dezotell.
I knew we reached our goal when I saw Pastor Doug, and his rollator, walking up the ramp to his home. We are thankful to grant funding from ENCORE Ministry for helping make this possible.

Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Hickman County Tennessee was organized in 1808-1809 and established in 1831. The current building was erected in 1871 on top of a hill.
