There are currently over 16 million people in the US providing care to a person with dementia. While caregiving can be very rewarding, many caregivers also experience a significant amount of stress, and struggle to find meaning in their role as a caregiver.

Finding Sanctuary in the Midst of Alzheimer's: A Spiritual Guide for Families Facing Dementia, is a 4-week Bible study by Dr. Elizabeth Shulman that addresses common challenges for dementia caregivers using both scripture and personal narratives gathered while Shulman was doing doctoral research. An additional fifth week is included for churches looking to design a dementia ministry specific to that congregation, building on the skills and gifts discovered during the course of the study.
