On October 26, 2023, ENCORE Ministry – in partnership with engAGING Communities TN, UT Chattanooga’s School of Nursing’s older adult initiative – is hosting its first conference-wide event for older adults and older adult ministry leaders since the COVID pandemic and the formation of the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference. The event, Building Community with Older Adults, will be held in person at Franklin (Tennessee) First United Methodist Church on October 26. It will also be live-streamed via Zoom. Beginning with registration at 9 a.m., the event will include worship, networking, and sessions by area experts on topics impacting older adults such as grandfamilies, older adult care, legal services, mental health, transitions of care, and congregational care. Vendor tables will feature staff from area agencies and organizations providing services and information related to older adults.
